The rotator cuff is a group of four small muscles that stabilize the shoulder. They are prone to tendonitis and tears.
The NMT Approach
- Release Trigger Points: Muscles like the Infraspinatus often develop trigger points that refer pain deep into the shoulder joint.
- Correct Scapular Mechanics: If your shoulder blade doesn't move well, the cuff gets pinched (impingement).
- Restore Blood Flow: Tendons have poor blood supply. Manual therapy brings fresh blood to the area to speed up healing.
We combine this with specific strengthening exercises for the small stabilizer muscles to prevent recurrence.
